i turn my computer on, i log onto my account and my computer works for a bit and then the whole thing freezes not even the mouse responds! its getting very annoying. i used the system recovery discs and its still happening. can you tell em how to fix this. whether it be manually or by downloading FREE software

It has to be something physically wrong. Try opening it up and cleaning some of the dust out of it (carefully).

Also if it has overheated your processor may be heat damaged and you may have to replace it. Check it and the heat sink for any discoloration.

your computer might be to hot to work right. if yo have a good enough power supply, and a spot for an extra fan you should put one in.
Did you reinstall the OS when you say you use the system recovery disks? If you have not done that yet, this maybe a good way to get you back the clean setup. There are so many possible causes for the freezing problem. More information is needed for this. If you need more help, please provide the PC type, CPU, RAM, and software...... Those information always help to find out the problem.

Do you have more than one Anti-Virus? If you do, remove the inactive ones. They normally fight each other bad.
try to open your system and clean up your ram then properly re-install it. check your hdd power connections, they may be loose. check your power supply voltage outputs. require a qualified technician if you can't do it.
the first thing i check, is to see if it is going into auto update. several programs booting up at the start, then all of them trying to update at the same time. grrrrrrrrr.
