Does Linux ever get viruses?

There are viruses for all OSe's but the difference is that in linux, The user is rarely logged in as ROOT. So the chance that a virus can modify your registry is pretty limited.

Unfortunately for Linux users, the more Linux is used in more and more computers......it will become a bigger target for hackers to attack.

Yes, albeit very rarely.
Ever . . or . . . Probable? Even if a lot of people start using Linux OS's most customize them, making each a little different. So sensible. So secure.

Isn't it great?

Isn't it fast?

Isn't it FREE!
It may do... one day. The potential is there. Same as the Sun may explode. One day. Fact is, of course, that Windows is plagued with viruses, adware, spyware, trojans, rootkits and all sorts of other nasties. And children can do it. Linux... isn't. Some people like to say "oh, when more people use Linux" etc... of course, Linux has been around for years... so why nothing? You got it - a better security model.
its my understanding that there are a few out there but to date I have had zero. I surf hardcore porn every day and download music when I want. When I used windows xp my boxes wouldnt last a week with the best firewall and AV so for all intents and purposes NO VIRUSES FOR LINUX.
