I know using limewire is against the law..and some ppl say it causes viruses, is it true?

We've just got our computer fixed but the tech never said that it was because of limewire, he said it was because we didnt have a good virus protector....we now have virus protecting software, is it safe to download from limewire?

Using Limewire or having limewire is NOT illegal....it is a LEGAL program to have.

yeah you can get viruses. but only if you download zip files. of you just download music/videos then youll be fine. just beware: DO NOT DOWNLOAD ZIP FILES. zip files have an envelope with a zipper on them.
Limewire in itself is legal, it's the content on it which is illegal, such as copyrighted music or copyrighted movies. When you download things it's very important that you check the file extension following the filename.

EXE, executables-%26gt; are the most common files which contains viruses/trojans/spyware, etc

RAR/Zip-%26gt; CAN have these 'evil' programs, but it isn't always the case as they could contain pictures and other sutff of the kind.
