Can you get viruses/spywares by using limewire?

Can you trust limewire? If you download it can you get bugs?

They say no. i've not had any problems with it, but even the most trusted sites can infect you at times. i'm not worried about it tho. should you be? up to you. i've got AVG (virus protect.) spybot, and adaware, three good tools and i keep up with maintenance.

You can get viruses or spyware from ANY P2P file sharing service if you DL and run a file that has said nasties.



Some P2P file sharing software has spwyare built in. Older versions of Limewire had spyware built in, but reportedly 4.9.28 does not.

BTW, a file sharing program that does NOT have embedded spyware is eMule.
yes, yes you can. Just be careful........they tell you when a file is infected, so by being wary you can keep yourself realtively safe
I've never gotten any nasties from Limewire. I do, however, get horrible rips, corrupted files, and dingleberries that don't share their files.
