Does limewire cause viruses or make you computer slower?

Limewire is a peer to peer application. This means that you share your hard drive with others on the internet, and they copy things from your hard drive while you copy from theirs. There is no central authority and no way to verify that files are what they say they are, so a large number are infested with viruses and other malware. Using Limewire, or anything else, to download music, movies and software is illegal; however, that's what most people use it for. These illegal files are even more likely to be infected. Keep in mind that if you avoid infection (which is doubtful) you're still vulnerable to lawsuits and prosecution if you download illegally. The law sets the minimum fine at $750.00 per file downloaded, with a maximum of $150,000.00 per file. A jury in Minnesota recently found a woman guilty of illegally downloading 24 songs. They set her fine at $9,000.00 per song.

Limewire does not contain viruses in and of itself nor does it slow down your computer. However, the files you download through Limewire may very well be virus or spyware laden and these will definitely slow down your computer.
Having limewire on your computer doesn't make it run slower, nor does it cause viruses. You may get a computer virus from some of the things you download from limewire, though.
Limewire is fine, its what you download from it that can cause virus infection, make sure you have a good antivirus program and keep it update, you can still catch them so its down to common sense and caution to stay clean.
Yes it can. Limewire shouldn't have any viruses, but what you down load can. And the more you down load, the better the chance of a virus. Also the more you down load the more space you take up on your computers hard drive. Thus making it run slower.
YES
