I was scanning for viruses with mcafee and it kept pausing ? can anyone help?

could this be coz i was using vls media player and it might of been scanning Program Files/Videolan/vlc when it paused?

It might not be pausing - it might be taking a very long time to scan big files. The next time it happens press Ctrl+Alt+Del to open the task manager. Look under the Applications tab to see if it is still running or 'Not Responding'
